Amped DVRConv and Engine Update 36977

Reading time: 2 min

This latest release introduces support for new proprietary CCTV formats and extended support for existing formats and variants. We have also added a new audio synchronization option and a number of notable performance improvements.

Hello everyone and welcome to the first yearly update of Amped DVRConv and Amped Engine. With this update, we bring you support for a number of new formats and variants as well as the ability to resample audio when converting video files.

Resample Audio During Conversion

Synchronization between audio and video can always be somewhat challenging to achieve, depending on the format and any variability in the frame rate. With this update of Amped DVRConv and Amped Engine, we have added the ability to replace audio gaps with silent samples. This will help with retaining synchronization with the video track. The new feature can be toggled on and off from the Program Options menu, as shown below. Please note that this option will be skipped when copy-streaming.

Decoding Formats

The ability to decode new proprietary formats and variants remains the priority for DVRConv and Engine development. Of course, for us this is not just a matter of supporting new formats and file extensions. We add the ability to support new and/or modified variants of existing formats as well as the ability to extract timestamps from video data. In this update of Amped DVRConv and Amped Engine we have added support for:

  • 2 new file extensions
  • 5 new variations of already-supported formats
  • 3 new timestamp formats
  • 1 new variation of already-supported timestamp format

Other Improvements:

  • When running Amped Engine in the default “convert and exit” mode, files will no longer be moved from their original folder. However, this is not applicable when Engine runs in “keep open / no exit” mode.
  • We have improved the non-interactive mode of Amped Engine to prevent spurious error codes from appearing when a non-serious problem is encountered.
  • We have fixed an issue that prevented some output files from being placed into the destination subfolder.
